Electronic Conveyancing Victoria

ECV is an electronic conveyancing system developed in partership with industry and the community. The project is committed to making land information and transactions accessible to citizens through its Property Online initiative. This will make it faster and easier for Victorians to buy, sell or otherwise deal with land. It will provide end-to-end conveyancing over the Internet, including electronic settlement and immediate online lodgement of land dealings and registration of interests in land.

Stock Software's role in the ECV project has been with the implementation of an interactive presentation/prototype which demonstrates some of the tools being developed to enable conveyancing to be done electronically.

The presentation is a standalone Java application written with the Swing GUI platform. The application gives the dual feeling of a simple slide show and fully functional Electronic Conveyancing application. This is done by allowing the viewer/user to add, delete, and change details within a familiar windows environment whilst stepping through a typical Discharge, Transfer and Mortgage transaction of conveyancing.

Stock Software is currently involved in prototyping portions of the ECV system to enable the project team to better communicate their design ideas to other involved parties. This is being done within the J2EE framework, heavily utilising the JTA and JMS functionality.
